Do you want to be healed?
Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?
Have you understood all these things?
How many loaves do you have?
Who do you say I am?
Will you wait with me?
In Bethesda, a great number of disabled people used to lie – the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been in this condition for a long time, Jesus asked
Do you want to get well?”
Do you want to be healed? Seems like a throw away question to a man who had been lying around on a mat for most of his life. Yet Jesus didn’t want to just de-mat him unless the man himself could admit that he was ready.
He knows that he doesn’t have anyone to help him into the pool when the water is stirred and there would be someone else to go down ahead of him. John 5:8, but He gave him the privilege to utter what he really wants.
What do you want right now?
He knows.. but He is asking you.
