The Flash Mob!

Introducing the Flash Mob!

A Flash Mob is a large group of people who gather at a public location to perform a pre-defined action, usually a brief dance or performance, and disperse rapidly after the event has concluded. The performance is often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire and generally not applied to events with the purposes of politics, advertisement, public stunts of paid professionals. These are usually organized via telecommunications, social media and emails. This kind of mob is garnering attention to a lot of people who loves to dance and entertain audiences.

This is a fun way of entertainment but could also a start of a riot, much depends on the motive and the group as this attracts a large group of people.

Here in the country, I’ve seen some performances like that of a flash mob but in a case of a public performance from 3-6 members of Banana Split cast. They usually go in a place without notice, perform a dance then disperse.

Here are some International Flash Mob

Edsa at 25

I am a 1986 baby, the year when EDSA people power revolution had happened in our country. This revolution resulted in proclamation of the 11th President of the Philippines, Corazon Aquino, after democracy was restored to the country after the 14-year Martial law of Marcos regime.

The EDSA anniversary is a special holiday for schools declared by Malacanang for this year under Proclamation No. 84, which declares the regular holidays, special non-working days, and special holidays for the year 2011.

There will be no classes on all levels in all public and private schools on Feb 25 in commemoration of the Twenty fifth anniversary of the 1986 EDSA people power revolution. – Pinoy Ideas

Do it Anyway: Mother Teresa

– Do It Anyway
Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable,
illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Switchfoot in Manila 2011

American band Switchfoot will be in Manila for a concert on April 30, 2011, 7:00PM in Phil. Sports Arena (ULTRA)

Switchfoot is an American rock band from San Diego, California.  Switchfoot first gained mainstream recognition with the inclusion of four of their songs in the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember. The band name was derived from a term in surfing (because they love to surf). To switch your feet means to take a new stance facing the opposite direction. It’s about change and movement, a different way of approaching life and music.

Super Bowl and the Super Commercials

The SuperBowl and the SuperCommercials

With an average audience of 111 million viewers, SuperBowl commercials are surely FTW! Because of its high viewership, commercial airtime during the Super Bowl broadcast is the most expensive of the year.

For others who are not really into sports, Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League or NFL. It the highest level of professional American football in the US, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. It uses Roman Numeral in numbering the season rather than the year it is held. This year is now on its 45th or Super Bowl XLV.

The day it is held is now part or considered as an American holiday called Super Bowl Sunday, a second-largest day for the US food consumption (yes, food!), after the Thanksgiving Day. It is also one of the most watched American TV broadcast drawing an average of 111 million viewers. It is also one of the most watched sporting event in the world.

Advertisers roll out their sleeves to check on tools from their adbox to offer the best commercial ads to the millions of viewers. Imagine millions to see your ad is a boost of yield. Since investing in ads here in Super Bowl is high, advertisers tend to develop their most brilliant and expensive advertisement for the broadcast. Rockstars, rappers, babes, pop icons, big stars with big surprises  usually play roles in their ads. Justine Bieber, Eminem, many others are hired to be seen in the commercial they produce.
