It the highest level of professional American football in the US, culminating a season that begins in the late summer of the previous calendar year. It uses Roman Numeral in numbering the season rather than the year it is held. This year is now on its 45th or Super Bowl XLV.
The day it is held is now part or considered as an American holiday called Super Bowl Sunday, a second-largest day for the US food consumption (yes, food!), after the Thanksgiving Day. It is also one of the most watched American TV broadcast drawing an average of 111 million viewers. It is also one of the most watched sporting event in the world.

Since investing in ads here in Super Bowl is high, advertisers tend to develop their most brilliant and expensive advertisement for the broadcast. Rockstars, rappers, babes, pop icons, big stars with big surprises usually play roles in their ads. Justine Bieber, Eminem, many others are hired to be seen in the commercial they produce.
